Tutors: Kim Nelson
|Length: 2nd semester||Class Period: Wednesday, period 3 (1:00 - 2:00)|
Description: Salsa rueda (translated "wheel") is a called dance performed in a circle, in which there are many different partner moves, group moves, combinations, and partner switching. It is high energy and a lot of fun. The calls are all in Spanish, which adds to the fun, but you don't need to to know any Spanish to dance rueda. The students will have the option of performing a salsa rueda at the CHAT Spring Showcase. This is a fun way to get some physical education credit!
Students who have already taken this class are welcome to take it again.
The Rueda class may perform at the CHAT Spring Showcase performance depending on the class size.
Note: This is a 60 minute class. The tuition has been prorated accordingly.
Also note: There will be no class on February 14. The tuition is prorated to 14 weeks.
Tutor: Kim Nelson graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota with a degree in math. She and her husband, Dave, have been dancing together for over 15 years and are currently members of a salsa rueda performance team that has performed across the Metro area as well as in Wisconsin, Chicago, San Francisco, and Jamaica.
