Description: This course will follow the development of human civilization from the beginning of recorded history to the Industrial Revolution (1st semester) and from World War I to present day (2nd semester). Through engaging activities and projects, students will learn the basic patterns of human history, and be familiar with significant people, events, locations, and themes throughout each period studied.

Note:  This class, along with the Jr. High Cultural Geography class, completes the Social Studies track for middle school.

Tutor: Kim Witthuhn works as a professional editor and has taught literature, writing, grammar, history, geography, and various electives at homeschool organizations over the last 20 years, including homeschooling her own children. She is also a homeschooling and career consultant and enjoys helping people discover the unique design God gave them. Mrs. Witthuhn graduated from Concordia University with a BA in English and Social Science Education. She lives in Eden Prairie with her husband and enjoys studying the Bible, reading, learning, and spending time with family.

Cost:  $222, $232 or $242 per semester (depending on registration date)

Text (to be purchased by parents): Short Lessons in World History by E. Richard Churchill and Linda R. Churchill. Because of the various editions of this book available, please do not buy it. The tutor will purchase all copies and can be reimbursed the first week of class.
