Description: This class introduces students to creative writing through a variety of time-tested literary forms, including narrative, poetry, and personal reflection. Students will learn how different forms shape meaning while developing their own writing skills in a simple, engaging, and encouraging environment. Most writing will be completed during class time. Students will use a dedicated notebook for weekly writing and will have a short assignment each week, along with optional additional writing for those who want to go further. Note: This class can be taken as a year long course, or as two separate semester classes. Tutor: Ben Carlson is a small business owner, husband, and father, and lifelong learner with a passion for literature, storytelling, and clear communication. He studied literature and biblical studies at Bethlehem College & Seminary in Minneapolis, where he developed a deeper appreciation for how different forms of writing communicate meaning. He believes that clear writing is an important life skill and enjoys helping students grow in confidence as writers in a supportive and engaging environment.
Cost: $260, $270, or $280 per semester
