Description: This course helps students build confidence in research writing by learning how to choose meaningful topics, locate and evaluate reliable sources, and develop clear, well-supported arguments. Students will practice organizing ideas thoughtfully, integrating evidence effectively, and using proper citation formats. Through structured writing projects and revision, students will strengthen their ability to communicate clearly in ways that prepare them for college expectations, professional environments, and real-world situations.

Tutor: Lauren Burns is so excited to be joining the CHAT team. She is a graduate of Gustavus with a bachelors in Communications. She has 3 kids she homeschools with her husband Nick and they have a beloved dog Koda. She loves to read, be active and spend time outdoors. In the winter, she loves to ski in between running all the kids to sports. In the summer, she loves spending time by the water. Looking forward to a great year.
